Shattered Glass: The universe where Optimus Prime is the tyrant
Shattered Glass
Forget everything you know about the Cybertron War. Forget the nobility of Optimus Prime and the cruelty of Megatron. There exists a parallel dimension in the Transformers multiverse where morality has been completely reversed: welcome to the Shattered Glass universe.
In this nightmarish world, the colors, logos, and personalities are diametrically opposed to those we know. Let's delve into one of the darkest and most fascinating timelines ever created by Hasbro and Fun Publications.
1. The Autobots: Sadists in Power
In our world, the Autobots are the guardians of peace. In Shattered Glass , they are ruthless conquerors, torturers, and tyrants who rule Cybertron with an iron fist.
Optimus Prime: The Mad Dictator
Here, the leader of the Autobots is anything but a protective father figure. His armor sports dark hues, often purple or black, and his windshields are cracked to reflect his madness. (By the way, if the idea of an evil Prime intrigues you, take a look at our analysis: Could Optimus Prime have been a villain? ).
The Optimus of this universe takes pleasure in torturing his prisoners. His famous slogan "Till all are one" is no longer a message of unity, but a terrifying threat of forced assimilation and total domination.

Faced with Optimus's tyranny, a handful of rebels rise up to defend freedom. They are the Decepticons .
Megatron: The Scholar-Poet
The Megatron of Shattered Glass is a former university professor from Tarn. He is a deeply pacifist and wise man, fighting only out of absolute necessity to save the innocent from the clutches of the Autobots. He is often aided by an incredibly loyal and devoted Starscream, ready to sacrifice himself for his leader (a biting irony compared to the classic version!).
3. The phenomenon among collectors
What began as a simple BotCon exclusive in 2008 has become a global phenomenon. Hasbro recently relaunched the Shattered Glass universe in its own toy line, allowing fans to buy a heroic Megatron or a sadistic Bumblebee.
The figures in this collection are highly sought after because they offer new color schemes on familiar molds (like Grimlock with Trypticon colors).
